In my country, Spain, when something is easy peasy we say that it is "coser y cantar", which would translate as "sewing and singing". And this is what the Simon Says challenge for this week is about: creating a card or anything else with real or faux stitching on it.
Not long ago I posted about real stitching on paper and how at first I thought it would mess up the sewing machine until I realized that you sew first and then glue the piece, lol!!! Real stitches look very pretty on paper creations, but so does faux stitching. I've developed a loving for faux stitching (usually drawn with a white gel pen) as a consequence of following the work of Kristina Werner. She uses faux white stitching in many of her cards, and it looks so cool!
So I went for it on this card. I also put to work some of the latest Hero Arts stamps I've purchased, along with the droolingly beautiful papers from Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love Collection. They arrived yesterday and are so beautiful that I could hoard them forever. But then I thought that using them would actually be the perfect excuse for ordering more, hehehe...
I stitched on the little hills, the doggie's ear, the cloud and also around the edges of the card. The tree was heat embossed with green AC Zing powder. A pretty simple card, but I love the look of the small elements stamped on patterned paper.
Tomorrow I'll be posting another card with stitches and I also plan to show you the beautiful papers that came in my latest order from Two Peas in a Bucket (link on the side bar!).
See you then! Happy friday night and thanks for visiting!
