Good sunday morning! Lovely Lucy posted another challeng, this time about making a card inspired in other person's one. I chose this cute cupcake card by Dawn McVey, who is another of my "to go" gals for inspiration. My card does not have a sentiment because it's for my mother in law's birthday, and she doesn't speak english at all, so I've decided to hand write it on the inside. This said, wouldn't it be wonderful if some stamp company made a set with basic sentiments in spanish in nice fonts? I own one from Stampendous, but it's not exactly what I want...
Ok, so I was inspired by the color combo, the cupcake and the scallops, but instead of stamping polka dots, I embossed my card base with them.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies: Cardstock: Papertrey Ink; Stamps: Basic Grey; Ink: PTI, Tsukineko Versamagic; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey; Other: ribbon from my stash, white embossing powder, nestabilities scalloped squares and swiss dots embossing folder.
Oh this is gorgeous. I love Dawn - and you've created a beautiful version of her card.
I've recently started doing some DIY sentiments using my printer. You can print them onto the patterned paper or just onto white card, then cut out and stick onto the card. Sometimes, the right sentiment just doesn't exist :)
Thank for entering my challenge again, hope you are well
