Punny cards

Hi! I hope you're enjoying your saturday. My card for today was created for the weekly challenge at Cards Blog, which asked us to make cards with punny sentiment. It wasn't picked this time, but I wanted to share it anyway because it makes me smile ;)

The patterned paper is from a long lost DCVW pad, I think it is called "Sweet". The cow, the goose (or is it a duck? Yes, I'm a city girl...) and the sentiment are from October Afternoon's  Farm Fresh stamp set. And for the punched strip I used a Martha Stewart border punch. I created a bubble for the sentiment with a white gel pen.

Yellow, navy, light blue and white

Evening! Those are the colors for the current Color Cue challenge at the WPlus9 blog. I recently got the Cupcake Collection stamp set from PTI and it's so lovely that I had to ink it as soon as possible. And here's what I did:

 

The card is all PTI. For my card base I used Background Basics Tin Types stamped in Enchanted Evening ink. The focal piece was made by stamping Text Style in Lemon Tart ink. The yummy cupcake was stamped on Basic Grey paper, cut out and embellished with pearls. The pearls on the right were white too but I custom colored them with Copics. Love that technique! You get the color shade you need in seconds :)

A new trigger

Good evening! I barely did it on time for last weeks Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, but here I am! I love the picture: beautiful china in beautiful pastels. Here's the pic:

And here's my card:

In order to make the pastel colors pop I decided to use a kraft background. The bottom scallop I used to "ground" the flower is one of the negatives you have left after using PTI's ric-rac die. Love it! I used it inspired in the wavy borders of the china dishes. The flower is from a Hero Arts cling set. I colred it with copics and accented with a white gel pen and some Glossy Acents in the center and the petal points. As you can see I also played a bit with the white gel pen to make a frame for the image. Still need some practice, but I like the results :)

A card lift from Kristina

Hi there! The moment I saw this card by Kristina Werner I just HAD to make one. Which was easy peasy as she has been kind enough to post a PDF template for the window. Thanks, Kristina!!

The paper I used is from Anna Griffin Riley Collection and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. The tiny butterflies were punched from a punch I got from Etsy a while ago -from a Japan seller!- while the larger ones where stamped in the back of the cardstock with one of the images from PTI Butterfly Dreams and then cut and flipped over, so the other side of the paper would show. Not sure how this technique is called. Reverse stamping?

Dear Friend...

Hi everyone! Today I want to share a card absolutely full of stamping and with quite a bit of die cutting too. The background was stamped ans was the focal point, and even the tiny embellishment :)

I don't know if it's just in my computer, but in the pic the Ocean Tides cardstock appears much darker than it's real color, and so does the paper I used as my background for the photo, which is from My Mind's Eye Love me Do collection in case you were wondering.

Hello! Thank you everyone for all the sweet comments about being one of the winners of the Moxie Fab World bubble sketch challenge. I am really happy! An pretty lost when it comes to adding the winner blinkie to my blog's sidebar, so wish me luck :)

Today's card is for a friend from work that has been promoted and is going to another department. I think butterflies represent great the idea of flying up. First I went for clean and simple but then I thought some distress ink would make the butterflies pop a bit more and I ended distressing also the card base and the inside sentiment pannel. A yummy thick layer of frosted lace stickles finishes the butterflies. And although the photo diesn't show it very well, the sentiment is clear embossed with black pigment ink.
