A new Color Cue

And truth to be said, I would have never come up with this color combo myself, but now that I've tried it, I have to say I like it :) Thanks, Dawn! (You can find the latest Color Cue from WPlus9 here)

So I made this card for my friend Marta. Can you say how old is she? Lol!

I used a few PTI sets for this one, some glitter and lots of handcutting.

Bikes are for summer

Good morning! Phew!!! I barely made it on time for the current Moxie Fab World challenge: I want to ride my bicicle.

I used the cute bicicle stamp from PTI Everyday Button Bits but instead of buttons I cut some of this fun paper from the Fly a Kite 8x8 pad by October Afternoon. That circles reminded me summery wheels ;) To mimic the grass I used a Martha Stewart border punch.

I'm here!!

Hello there! Now, talk about neglecting a blog... I went on a family road trip to the North of Spain, and then I came back and had about 100 tons of laundry to catch up with. But that's fixed now and I'm back with a card. The colors look bolder in the photo, but they're much lighter in real life. This was my submission for a Cards blog challenge about using patterned paper with flowers. I had this pretty paper in my stash and wanted to use it. It's actually one of the first ones I purchased! Not sure about the company, it may be DCVW or K&Co. 

The focal pannel was cut with a Nestabilities die (blooms, I think). I stamped  a background first and then the sentiment in darker ink. Some crochet thread tied around and finished with a button accents it.

And do you see that glittery line there? I first learned about that technique on Nichole Heady's blog and I've also seen it at Dawn McVey's. The result is so beautiful! Just adhere some scor tape and cover it with glitter. Subtle, pretty and not too messy.

Going digital

Good morning! It's a bank holiday in Madrid today, which means some free time to catch up with cards! Hibrid cards, to be precise. I made this one for Lucy's digital challenge. You can find the details here.

I used this free digikit from Two Peas in a Bucket. They offer many free digital stuff over there, which I find is a great way to try digi for first time. And in case you get hooked, they have a zillion kits, elements, digistamps and paper packs you can purchase. The best part is that you never run out of supplies, as you can print them all the times you want ;)

Now, about the card: I opened the cute owlet in a word document, and printed, cut out and colored with Copics. Paper is from an old My Mind's Eye paper pad. The arrow and sentiment are Hero Arts. And of course, what's a crown without some bling? So I applied some diamond stickles on it.

Heart winged butterfly

Hi everyone? Has the summer arrived to your spot of the world? It has here for sure! And after almost a whole year of winter I can tell you I'm going to enjoy each and every ray of sun. Yummm!!!

Ok, now let's get to my card for today. It's inspired in the colors from the latest challenge at the Embellish Magazine blog. Check it here.

This time we had to use some kind of butterfly in the card, and I thought it was about time to ink again this beautiful heart winged butterfly from Hero Arts. It's truly a classic! I stamped it on acetate and heat embossed it with green embossing powder from American Crafts. Once again I colored the half pearls with Copics. The flourish is also Hero Arts and the sentiment is PTI.
