Hi there! Ok, just in case there's anyone there, because I guess the whole crafty world must be in CHA right now, lol! It would be a dream to be able to travel all the way to CHA some day and meet in person some of my oh so admired designers. Anyway, here's a card for today :)

I made this card almost one month ago, and it happens to fit the Clean and Graphic challenge over at the Moxie Fab World, so there we go! The arrows in PTI Get to the point set are perfect for cutting. I really like this set!

A little ric-rac

Good evening!!! I'm back in Madrid after a fun weekend in the beach visiting my mum with the family :) So today's card is perfect for my seaside mood... and for the current Embellish Magazine challenge, that you can check here. The colors are based on one of Tina's pics. Her blog, The Traveling Mama, is a must for me!!

So let's talk a bit about the card, which is pretty simple: I stamped the cutie Hero Arts fish on a Bo Bunny bright orange polka dot paper and colored a bit with Copics. Then I also added some dots here and there with white gel pen and finished with stickles. What's a fish without some bling? ;) The sentiment is from the same set. The ric rac was cut from PTI Hawaian Shores felt with the PTI ric-rac die, and the tiny bubbles where punched with my Crop-a-dile.

And another Color Cue!

Hey there! Since I discovered this great challenge via Maile Belles blog, I've been addicted to it. The color combos are always gorgeous! Go, go check it at the WPlus9 blog.

I put to work my newest PTI set, Vintage Jar and it's companion set. Love this stuff. And the matching dies too :) I colored the sweets with Copics and added some diamond stickles. Also drew a white line to add some interest and stamped PTI Text Style at the bottom.

Layout inspiration

Do you know how I started papercrafting? I was searching pretty papers through the internet when I bumped into patterned papers for scrapbooking. What's that? I wondered. Wow!!! A whole world to be discovered! I oooohed and aaaaehd and squealed when I began to see layout after layout. Gosh, everything was so beautiful! So I decided I wanted to scrapbook. But things don't always come out as expected and I soon found that I had a hard time with big surfaces. But I also found cardmaking. "Now, that's something I could try", I thought. So I did. That was one year and two months ago.

So here I am now. This is a gorgeous layout I would never be able to do.

And this is the card I was able to do inspired by the layout.

My card is for the Moxie Fab World Finding Inspiration in a Layout challenge. Check what everyone did here. I was inspired by the colors, some of the embellishments as the pearls, the use of a round label for journaling -I stamped mine and used it to place my sentiment-, the layering of my beloved patterned papers -I even used one from the same Cosmo Cricket collection- and the stitching -mine is faux-.

Trying "Classy and Elegant"

Hi there! Once again, the Moxie Fab World managed to get me out of my comfort zone. I'm giving this card to a friend whose daughter is getting married soon, so she can write something inside for her.

As you can see, I've put to work a bunch of my new PTI goodies. There's the Linen&Canvas impression plate, which is subtle yet so beautiful! Then there's the gorgeous rose from Year of Flowers: June, which I stamped on coral/pinkish cardstock with soft grey ink and then cut out. There's the Prisma Glitter, my new favorite. And do you see that scored lines under the sentiment? I made them with my new Martha Stewart scoring board which my friend from work Mateo brought to me all the way from San Francisco to Madrid. Isn't he a star? He is, I tell ya!

Happy Balloons

Good evening! Today I am sharing a card that will soon be traveling as far as Hawaii! It involves lots of stamping, some die cutting and patterned paper. Just bliss for me ;)

The cloud was cut from white felt with a PTI die. Man, gotta love that dies! Only yesterday I received a few more that I'll be sharing soon. That is, as soon as I sneak some spare time to create stuff with them... The balloons are paper pieced and cut by hand, but one of the dies I got yesterday is the one that coordinates with them. No more balloon trimming. Yeah.

What else? Oh yes. The grid background was stamped with PTI's Background Basics Geometrics and the sky was created with distress ink and a blending tool. I'm entering this card in the current A Passion for Papertrey challenge about using die cuts. Check it here.

Big Fun

Hello! Are you already enjoying the summer? My holidays are still far away, but I made this card with them in mind :)

At first I stamped the sun and rays image directly on the kraft cardstock but the result was way too soft so I stamped everything again on a Basic Grey paper, cut and adhered on the previously stamped sun. The cloud, flip flops, glass and slice of lemon were paper pieced too from the same paper pad (Lemonade) and the die cut cloud is PTI. I quite like the sentiment stamped on it :) And of course a bright summer card needs some bright summer glitter!

I was going to enter this card for the current A Passion for Papertrey challenge but mwah mwah mwaaah... I just realized that it just closed.

Go, Spain!

Hi! Before heading off to the country for the weekend (which sounds quite posh but just means my in laws place an hour ago from Madrid) I wanted to post a card I made a couple of days ago. As some of you may know the Spanish national soccer/football team will be playing tomorrow the final of the South Africa 2010 World Cup against the Netherlands. Of course, that deserves a card as this is the 1st time in History that we get this far in the FIFA championship. Wish us luck!

I used the PTI impression plate again and rubbed it with Distress Ink using an inking tool. The banner was stamped from PTI's It's a Celebration set. For the sentiment I used sticker letters from Crate Paper and a Hero Arts alpha set to stamp "Spain". A dab of diamond Stickles here and there and a polka dot stamped border (PTI eyelet lace border die) finish up the card.

Pretty Poppy

Morning everyone! It's so hot here I can barely move an eyebrow... Before heading to work and melting on my way there I want to share a card I made a couple of weeks ago inspired by this awesome tutorial by Lisa Johnson.

Aren't that poppies realistic and beautiful? And the best part, quick and easy to make :)

I made mine red and used some brown gros grain for the center. I had a hard time tearing apart the layers of paper though, they kept tearing. The card was finished with a sentiment from one of PTI's Year of Flowers sets.

Happy 4th of July

to my american friends :)

I created this card for one of my best friends, Leah. Also entered it in this week's Cards Blog challenge. You can find an awesome bunch of 4th of July cards here. Mine is quite simple because it's going to be mailed internationally.

So for this card I put to work one of my latest purchases, my very 1st PTI impression plate. It's called Sunshine. Love at first sight! At first I thought it was a bit pricey, but now I think it's worth every penny and I'm planning to get a few more eventually.

For the stars I used nesties and stamped them with PTI's Background Basics: Geometrics, A Little Argyle and Hero Arts Houndstooth bg. The "happy" and the 4 are from PTI Get to the Point.
