Pleats

Hi there! You may have noticed that pleated paper is quite the rage right now in the crafting world. Probably that's why the challenge for this week at the Cards blog is to create a card with pleats of any kind.

And here's what I came up with. A paper pleated Christmas tree (even if my hubs says it's not a Xmas tree because it has no trunk. Men...). I started with an aqua base that I embossed with PTI's woodgrain impression plate. The I die cut a mat stack from PTI and stamped and heat embossed with white powder this Hero Arts snowy cling stamp. For the tree I used some oldie but goodie stashed paper, I think it's K&Co. The sentiment was also heat embossed on a strip of vellum.

Hi there! How's your week going? Today I went back to work after my 15 days off, so now it's Christmas what I look forward too ;)

 

I'm a big fan of Lawn Fawn stamps and Kelly Marie's blog, so when I saw this fabby color combo I just wanted to jump in. It's the 1st time I participate in the Everything But The Kitchen Sink challenge (love that name!)

  

For the card I broke out one of the banners from this Lawn Fawn set that remained uninked. I added the saying with this set. As for the little bunny, I have to thank my husband, who has quite the eye for design and told me that the card was missing something, maybe a critter. And so I did :) See his ears and belly? I played with some fun flock. The bunny is from Hero Arts.

Hi there! Another Moxie Fab Challenge is up and running and I couldn't let it pass, specially since I just got this gorgeous PTI stamp set. Damask! I've been wanting it for sooo long and got a great deal at SCS. Gotta love that buy/sell/trade forums :)

So here's mi card. I stamped the gift with one of the background builders from the set in Fired Brick Distress Ink. Both the edges of the gift and the card were inked with some Antique Linen Distress Ink. Frame and sentiment from this PTI set and the silver twine was a purchase from a wonderful place I discovered while we were living in Montevideo. I got a 20 feet bobin for like nothing!
