Oh! Scraps!

Hola! Guess what? I ventured out of my confort zone, which for me is not exploring another style, BUT exploring my scraps bin. When I start a new card, I love to raid my stash searching for the perfect stuff for what I have in mind. I really enjoy going through my beautiful papers, and lookig for the perfect embossing folder etc. So my scraps never get used even when I'm unable to bin the tiniest piece of paper. So when I saw the current A Passion for Papertrey challenge, I knew what I needed to do :)

Absolutely everything on this teeny tiny card are scraps from other projects and even the sentiment belongs to a set that was on my stamping desk when I made the card. Geez, even the card base was a scrap!

CACM: Virginia Lu

Hi there! After all the Christmas crazinness everything begins to come back to normal, and that includes bringing back my Case a Card Monday (CACM) weekly feature. Today, I bring you a beautiful card by no other than Virginia Lu! Virginia is one of the warmest, kindest and most encouraging crafters I've ever known. And look at this true beauty she created:

And here's my CASE. I don't own the gorgeous Hero Arts starburst stamps, so I used a doily one instead which I was completely unable to ink evenly on just one layer, lol! Both the pearls and the twine were custom colored with Copics.

Bright spot

Hello and happy Sunday! A quick post for today with a card inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World. You can find it here along with all the deets to participate. What are you waiting for? :)

 

I was inspired by the white background, the pops of bright colors and the round shape of the garland. What a beautiful kitchen corner! All the stamps are PTI, I used this, this and this set.

A cut above the rest

Good morning! *cough cough* Yeah, I've catched some kind of flu and I'll be homebound the whole weekend. Good thing is that I'll have some time to catch up on stamping :) Today's card was made for a publication call a while ago but it wasn't picked. So I get to share it here.

Paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl paper pad and stamps are from this Lawn Fawn set. The cutie scissors were stamped with stazon on metallic silver carstock and then I added some glossy accents to the handles.

Another one...

Yeah, for someone that doesn't usually do sketches there have been an awesome lot of them lately ;) This card is based on one of Lucy's sketches, number 3.

The paper is My Mind's Eye, stamps from this and this PTI sets and those cool metallic accents are from my stash. Got them when we were posted at Montevideo, they come in a sheet with lots of them and they are supposed to be fabric appliques, lol!

Tiff's Sketchy Sunday

Morning everyone! The talented Tiffany Johnson from Iheartart is starting a "Sketchy Sunday" feature on her blog, so I thought I could play along :) Looks like I'm finally jumping in the sketches wagon! As soon as I saw the sketch, the banner reminded me ripped masking tape. So I came up with this:

I used a rustic white cardstock I found at my local paper shop, where I also found that awesome red vellum, which I embossed with a Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from this PTI set. I also added two scored lines for a bit of added interest :)

Good evening!! Today I have yet another card based on Lucy's sketches, this is number 4. You can find it here. As soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do.

I paired a Quickutz embossing folder with Basic Grey Paper. The snowflakes where heat embossed with clear powder. All the images are from this Lawn Fawn set. Isn't it cute? This card is also my submission for a new super duper fabulous challenge blog: Lawnscaping. The theme for this week is "snow".

Thinking of you

Hola! Another day, another card :) This is my take on Lucy's #2 sketch, check it here.

For this one I used a real mix of old and new goodies. Ok, that's if someone who has been stamping for less than 2 years can talk about old goodies. Can I?

I stamped a Hero Arts grid woodblock stamp on kraft cardstock and instead of stitching I made some piercing that I hope counts as stitching. After all, it's just the thread that is missing, but the holes are there, right? Lol! The butterflies where die cut from Echo Park papers with PTI dies and the sentiment is from this Hero Arts set.

Lucy's Sketch Week (Day 1)

Good morning! The fabulous Lucy Abrams is hosting a sketches week on her blog. I have to confess that I'm not much a sketches girl, but these are easy to follow and I really found them a great starting point :)

My baby card has not 4 but 3 hearts, but I hope that's ok. The bg paper is from October Afternoon Fly a Kyte paper pad. The hearts are from this PTI set and were heat embossed on kraft. Sentiment, also PTI from this set. And the banner is from this Lawn Fawn one. I really love how this card turned out. Really.

A Trigger for the new year

Hi there and happy, happy, happy 2011 to you! I even made a happy 2011 card. That never got posted *insert big blushing face here*. So no new year card today... but I have a mini card set to share ;)

Can you tell what inspired me or should I tell ya'? Hehe. I love that color combo. And the stitching! I used an oldie but soooo goodie stamp set by Technique Tuesday, actually one of the firsts I purchased. Greetings are from Hero Arts and were heat embossed in cocoa, and buttons, Papertrey Ink.
