Joy's Life Design Team Thursday

Hello and welcome to Joy's Life Design Team Thursday! Today I'm bringing you a gift tag that uses Joy's Wild Life stamp set. This set is chocking full of cutie patootie and fun sentiments in the most whimsical fonts. You can find and purchase it here.

So now on to the tag. I die cut the shape from kraft cardstock and embossed just the top half of it. Then I added a bit of blue shading using Distress Ink. The birdies were stamped and paper pieced from a Pink Paislee paper. Using small stamps for paper piecing is a great way to use your scraps :) The sentiment from Wild Life was stamped with Colorbox chalk ink. Some baker's twine, jute string and a small button finish it off. Ready to tie on a gift bag!

Crochet Trim

Good afternoon! A super quick post today (ok, they're always quick) with a card for the Embellish challenge. Believe it or not it's the very first time I've used crochet trim on a card! Hooray for challenges that make you stretch out of your comfort zone :)

 

 

I cut the scallops with a border die and stamped them with a gingham pattern in the challenge colors (or at least as close as I could get!). The rest of the card is pretty self-explanatory, I think :D

Embossing with dies

Hi there and happy Easter! We're back from the country. Almost 3 days completely off-line which sometimes is very good for mind and soul ;) But now I'm back and ready for some paper crafting! And here's a card I made inspired by the current Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink: Embossing with dies.

You shouldn't miss that video, it's such a fun technique! For my card I used the bigger heart prints die and the eyelet border one. I then stamped one of the bigger hearts with Versamark inside the embossed one. Tag and sentiments are from Tiny Tags.

One of a kind

Hello there and happy Easter! Before heading to the country for the weekend I wanted to share a fun card I made for the Lawnscaping challenge (all the details here).

I stamped the cutie critter from Lawn Fawn's  Critters in the Forest set on Cosmo Cricket paper (Nutmeg collection, another hoarded one!). Colored with Copics and finished with letter stickers and a handrawn frame. It's the first time I've done that and love the result! It kinda "finishes" the card :D

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday

Hi everyone and welcome to my 1st ever Design Team Thursday with Joy's Life! This week it's all about love, and the You're So Punny stamp set has the perfect sentiment for this card. You can check out the whole set here.

I went clean, simple and very bright with this card. First, I used a mug and a tiny heart dies to cut the shapes from felt and adhered them to the card. The glitter strip was made with double sided tape: just adhere the tape in a straight line, peel the backing, pour the glitter and you're good to go! To finish the card I stamped that cutie sentiment with Versafine black ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.

Masculine

Hello, happy Sunday! Ok, I've been such a bad blogger this week! Sorry, lots of work and also all my creative energy focused on the Christmas Paper Crafts Magazine call. My card for today is a bit different... it's a masculine card! They're a bit hard to do, don't you think?

I've made this masculine get well card for the current Hero Arts monthly challenge (details here). I stamped the solid grid background with distress ink on craft, and then the sentiment and coffee cup over it. There's also somer paper piecing involved just because I can't help it ;) And the coffee was covered with glossy accents which looks really cool in real life.

PTI Make it Monday: Embossing

(This is my second post for the day, you can find the 1st one scrolling down).

Hi again! I've been willing to participate in PTI's Make It Mondays since they started, but then life always gets in the middle... This week, though, I made it! Let's call it a Make It Saturday ;) Sooo, this week is all about heat embossing, one of my fave techniques. It's so magical!

For my card I heat embossed the leaves from Sending You with green powder and then colored the white areas with Copics and glittered them. The tiny tag is also heat embossed with clear powder and I used a sentiment for the Tag Its series. I just love how this card turned out :D

A Spring Trigger

Hi there, happy saturday! A quick post today. I just couln't not play this week at the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. I mean, look at that pic! And that scarf! And that colors! It screams spring to me.

So I took my new PTI Sending You set and played around trying to replicate some of the color combos of the scarf. This card would be fun to do with doily stamps too, don't you think? It is finished with one of Dawn McVey's sentiments. I love her handwriting! Aaand it's a single layer card, perfect for mail :D

Patterned paper with stamps

Hello from tissue-land! Today I'm home with my sick little guy, so while he plays (I don't know how children have the energy to play even with high temperature!) I'm posting my entry for the new Lawnscaping challenge: Make patterned paper with stamps

For this card I used the super duper cute (and famous!) Say Cheese and Say Cheese too sets from Lawn Fawn. I accented the camera lens and the little rays with diamond stickles. Looks very cool in real life! I think the paper may be DCWV or K&Co, not very sure.

Happiness is handmade

It trully is :) I made this card inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World. Everything in the pic screams "homespun" to me so I wanted to create a homespun jar full of used paintbrushes. Kinda like capturing the super happy feeling you have after a productive crafting session, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about :)

And here we go:

The sentiment is Hero Arts and the jar and brushes ones are PTI. Paper is from my very hoarded Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper pad. And as you can see I'm not a pro with Copics ;)
