Well, hello and welcome blog hoppers!! Today we are celebrating a very special Paper Crafts Magazine special issue (you can find it here):

Creating cards for this issue was a real blast and also something really new for me!! Before this I had read hundreds of times how other crafters wrote about finding inspiration all around, not only on the internet but also in everyday objects, from clothes to a lamp, for example. Ok, that was not my case! I guess I am more of a 'product girl', so it would usually be a certain stamp set, paper or even ink color what triggers my creativity. This said, you'll guess that working in the cards you can find in this issue was something challenging for me and I can tell ya' I enjoyed every minute of the process! Actually, after that experience I've found myself being, from time to time, inspired by everyday stuff -fabric patterns being a favorite, by the way!- and finally understanding what my fellow crafters meant. :)
So in the spirit of this paper babe, I'm lucky enough to be joining a bunch of fabulous designers to create a card inspired by something found at our home.
I chose one of my most treasured thrifty findings:

This beauty was found in Montevideo and it cost me like nothing. I even got the original case, and found a few chicken feathers inside! Sadly, the case was quite damaged so I decided not to keep it.
And here's what I created inspired by "Remie":

As you can see it's a very literal take. Guess I'm a literal person ;) The Echo Park patterned paper was toned down with Antique Linen Distress Ink, and the Unity image was heat embossed in white and then accented with Copics and glossy accents. I used a Cosmo Cricket sticker to add a sentiment, and a perfect one if I may say it :)
Ok, so now it's time to keep hopping to find out what fantastic cards were created by this talented ladies, but don't forget to leave me a comment first for a chance to win a copy of this amazing issue.
Also, you may want to visit the Paper Crafts Connection blog because rumor says they're giving away a prize that will blow your crafty socks off!
Thanks for stopping by and have a very inspired weekend :D
Love that old typewriter, I still remember my first typewriter, ah the old days of white out!
Cute card!
