Hi there! I hope your weekend was less rainy than mine, I can't believe it's still so cold out there when May is almost here! There's an up side though, and it's called crafty time inside ;)

This bright tree is my take on this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge. I'm sure you all have some pretty flowers and/or trees in your stash, so it's time to put them to good use. Also, I hope to see you there next Friday, because it's the new Friday Girls debut! I'm super excited :D

PTI Blog Hop

Good morning! Today I'm joining the PTI Blog Hop. I love the inspiration pic, it really offers a zillion creative possibilities! And that fabrics are very pretty too :)

 As you can see, my inspiration came from the stripes and the damask pieces. I used Distressed Stripes and Giga Guide Lines, and topped it with three tiny clear rhinestones. The sentiment is from Lovely Leaves.

CAS-ual Lights :)

Good evening! Quickly checking in to share a little something for this week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge. I based my card on this sketch:

And my take, with a bit of masking and die cutting involved. Also, see the lamp bases? I don't own the stamp set that matches the dies, just the companion sentiments, so I die cut them from fun foam and made my own foamy stamps. Works great with defined die cut shapes! Doilies, hearts, flowers... I learnt the technique a while ago from a PTI Make it Monday video by Heather Nichols you can find here.

Off to bed, I'm exhausted! Go ahead and give a try to this fun sketch, there's still time!

Chevron tags

Hello there! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! There are some family issues around here right now so I'm keeping it short and sweet.

Unless you've been hiding under a rock you will probably have noticed that chevron stripes are the trendiest of trends ever. And I happen to love them :)

I made this fun set of tags using two of my fave stamps lately. This chevrons heart and this cool sentiments. Stamp, cut and bling. Easy peasy.

Not just for Christmas

Good morning blogland! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty christmassy with Paper Crafts Magazine Holiday Cards & More submissions call ending yesterday. That said, you can imagine the ammount of red and green cardstock scraps scattered right now around all my studio (not to mention the glitter and tiny snowflakes...). And with green and red being opposites on the color wheel, I simply had to make a card for this:

 

 This card proves two things: 1. You can make a non-Christmas card using red and green. 2. You can make a card without stamps. Shocked? I was ;)

 

 
I used my newest border die by PTI and a Lifestyle Crafts alpha die. Cut and adhere, cut and adhere. Done.
 
 Just in case you were wondering, I'm linking my card to this week's CAS-ual  Fridays challenge just for fun and to encourage everyone to give it a go. Obviously I'm not eligible to win since I've just became a Girl Friday (!!!!!!!!!) and will be debuting on the DT in May. I hope you can play along too!

Some tweet news

Hello friends! Soooo... the beans have been spilled! I've been dying to tell you since I got Michele's invite almost a week ago. I hardly could believe it, given the fierce competence out there! So starting in May...

 

This is so exciting! Not only I get to join a challenge blog that I love, but I will also be part of a team formed by a super talented group of designers I have long admired. They are CAS masters, I tell you :) Thanks, Michele, for this incredible chance and for all the hard work behind the scenes. I'm so looking forward to get started!!! There are going to be A LOT more fabulous surprises in the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge Blog in the next weeks, so stay tuned, crafty friends, because you don't want to miss anything!

I had made this card for last week's challenge, a card that featured something that could be found in an Easter basket. Because of light issues I couldn't link it in time, so here it is anyway. I think the sentiment is perfect for today's great news :)

I was doubtful about including a sentiment or leaving the birdie's tweets as an any occasion sentiment, but I finally decided to stamp that little sweet message.

Oh, and of course don't forget to play in this week's challenge!

Even though now I'm not eligible to win, I know I'll be creating something for it this weekend. Isn't that color wheel inspiring? :)

Good morning! I hope you had a great Easter weekend. We spent two days at my inlaw's house in the country and it snowed like crazy! Welcome, Spring ;)

Know what? If I ever get a baby boy gift again, I would like it to look like this one.

Isn't this Tuesday Trigger gorgeous? I was inspired by the blue gingham and the white embossing, which I incorporated to my card by debossing the buttons with a woodgrain plate. I decided to make a baby card because this picture screams baby boy to me, not sure why :)

Song inspired

Good evening! Super quick post before heading to bed because I'm exhausted and will be driving to the country tomorrow :)

I love this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge: Name that tune, which means creating a project inspired by a song. I chose one of my all time favies, U2's Angel of Harlem. Did you know it's a tribute to Billie Holiday? And a beautiful one, I must say! So with New York City + music in mind, this is what I created...

I finally got to ink this gorgeous Hero Arts stamp, yay! Sentiment is also Hero Arts, music notes are from this Paper Smooches set. The rest is pretty self explanatory.
