Good afternoon!! Today I'm super excited to show you a little experiment that went great! I've been wanting for some time to try the faux letterpress technique by inking up an embossing folder and running it through my little Cuttlebug. So, a few days ago I finally decided to do it and it worked!!! Actually, it happened because I wanted to create a project with feathers for the Moxie Fab World Fascination with Feathers challenge. After pulling out all of my feather stamps I remembered I had this peacock feathers embossing folder and decided to go a different route. And, tada!!!
I inked the embossing folder with a blue pigment ink (Fresh Ink by Impress). This technique works better with pigment, as it gives a more even coverage. Dye inks tend to bead when applied to a plastic surface, although I guess if you coat the surface with Versamark first, it may work too. Does that make sense? :)
To finish the card I fussy cut a sentiment from PTI's Beautiful Butterflies and finished with a tiny butterfly cut with my new favorite die. I have tiny butterflies all over my crafting desk right now and I'm loving it!
Thanks so much for visiting!
