CAS Card Making II -Day 3-

Good morning! I'm one day behind posting my homework for the 3rd lesson of Clean and Simple Card Making II. Yesterday things got busy and I ran out of light to photograph my projects :)

So here I go. First, a card that uses Jennifer's technique about blending inks on the stamp. I thought this idea would be great on a masculine card. Letters die cut with the Cameo (I learned tons of things with the A Cut Above class!) and heart die cut from wood veneer with the Big Shot.

Now, a tag with Kristina's offset technique. I used a Hero Arts alpha stamp set, a Simon Says Stamp by Kelly Purkey branch (?) and a hello from a Technique Tuesday set (I cut the stamp in two parts, it originally says "hello summer").

CAS Card Making II -Day 2-

 

Good afternoon! I'm back with my homework for Clean and Simple Card Making II, Lesson 2. Today it's all about one layered cards and I learned great tips from the teachers and also remembered some techniques I already know but always forget to put in use. So here we go with a card and a tag... And sorry in advance for the pics, not very good light today around here.

My card features the two kinds of masking. After sponging the inks, I stamped some patterns to add texture without adding bulk. With the washi tape strip I mixed yesterday's tips from Julie and Jennifer: it adds interest, pattern and helps balance the offset stars. The biggest star has some tone over tone stripes but the pic doesn't show it, so here's a closer shot.

Second, a tag with yet more masking and Debby's tip about debossing an image to make it pop without adding bulg. I also loved Julie's gold glitter dots from yesterday, so I made some silver dots of my own :)

Oh, and remember yesterday's lesson about keeping your work clean and without smudges? Obviously I didn't pay enough attention, because I had to repeat the whole tag due to "ink happenings".

Clean and Simple Card Making II

Hello friends! Can you believe it? Me blogging two days in a row! Ok, so I enroled in the latest class by Online Card Classes, Clean and Simple Card Making II. And as I have this week off work, I hope I can follow up, or at least that's my intention :)

Day 1 is about the craftsmanship of CAS cards, and I managed to complete two cards following the sketches by Julie Ebersole and Amber Kemp Gerstel. Here's a look at my stamping place...

First I challenged myself to make a very inky card without splotches. Lots of therapeutical stamping here. Who needs therapy when you can stamp thousands of little dots and end up completely relaxed and in peace with the world?

The arrow was colored with a silver marker.

Now, card number 2 inspired by my admired Julie Ebersole. I used her sketch turning it upside down.

I also "stole" the gold ink idea. Pretty!

Hi there! Quick Sunday post. I've been stamping up a storm this weekend, and here's one of the cards I've made. My inspiration came from this gorgeous image from the Runway Inspired challenge blog. Details to be found here.

I took the colors, the dots and the butterfly shape (or at least that's what it looks like to me) from the chest of the dress. I also layered vellum butterflies on top of the stamped ones as a nod to the silk the dress is made of.

Everything was cut with the Cameo and the sentiment comes from an Ali Edwards Technique Tueday set.

CAS-ual Fridays January Sneak Peek: Casual Elegance

Hello friends! It's January sneak peek time at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and today I get to show you a bit from a new and beautiful set called Casual Elegance. Three new sets come out this week and will be available on January 18th! More details on the CFS blog :)

Casual Elegance works great on it's own or combined with floral images, and it includes a bunch of beautiful sentiments too.

First, I made a bold card stamping this pretty vine in several bright colors and adding the sentiment in black.





For my second project I went for a gift bag in a softer palette. I stamped the solid leaves in a color combo of iridiscent green and pale pink.





To complete the matching tag I stamped the leaves again and added the sentiment, which was partially stamped to fit in the tag. (I took a detail pic so you can see how pretty that iridiscent ink by Tsukineko looks).

Because I love music, I really struggled to decide which song to choose. Some were out of the game because the lyrics were, let's say, not very appropiate. But then I remembered one of my favorite songs. One that I love in two different versions, the original and a modern one. Want to try and guess it?
