Hey everyone! Today it's my turn to share some fun things you can do with Waffle Flower Crafts stamps, and I thought it was a perfect time to show you a couple of projects for the guys in your life.
I know many crafters struggle to come up with cards to fit a masculine recipient, and the Hey Mr stamp set is just perfect for this!
My first card was a bit time consuming. But only a bit, and the result is super fun! I wanted to achieve the look of letters nailed to the wall.
First, I started the big sentiment from Hey Mr. Then, I punched lots of tiny circles from silver paper and adhered them to the "Hey". I also pressed on the silver dots with a pick so the surface would look "hammered". Does that make sense? I also stamped and silver heat embossed the tiny nail. So cute!
The next step was stamping the hammer. I stamped it with Versafine pigment ink, masked the handle and poured silver embossing powder on the part that is supposed to be made of iron. Finally I fussy cut the hammer and adhered it with foam tape.
To finish the card I adhered a strip of scor-tape and also heat embossed it with silver powder.
My second card also shows one of the tools in the stamp set "in action", ha! This time it's the drill's turn.
I started with a red card base. On a separate pannel, I stamped the "you're my kind of guy" sentiment from Hey Mr and then die cut the heart stitching template to mimic holes in the wall. You could also use a piercing tool for this.
For the drill, I made exactly the same as in the first card: stamped it, masked the handle and heat embossed with silver the part that is supposed to be metallic. The drill was also fussy cut and adhered with foam tape. I also adhered the panel to the card base with foam tape to make the holes more realistic :)
And now... what about a giveaway? Leave me a comment for a chance to win a $10 Gift Certificate to the Waffle Flower Store.
