Good morning everyone! Are you having some crafty time this weekend? I hope so! Me? I did, and I'm bringing you proof... Two cards in store for today. Oh, and scroll down to the end of the post to see if you're the lucky winner of the gift certificate to the Waffle Flower Crafts Store that was for grabs here :)
Right. One of the things I love the most in stamp sets are those tiny companion images usually included. Don't oversee those, because they are tiny gems. They open so many possibilities! Here, I worked with one of the thin "brushed lines" you'll find in Rock My World stamp set. I think they are supposed to be used as grass to ground the rock images. But I thought it would be cool to stamp a whole background with it.
And because the lines are kind of organic and irregular, you don't have to care to stamp them perfectly aligned. Imperfection is ok. I started at the bottom and worked my way up. Pretty relaxing too :)
The sentiment is also from Rock my World. It's a single stamp, but I stamped and heat embossed each word separately on a strip of cardstock. Done.
My second card is a one layer with Bowtiful stamp set and one of the coordinating dies. Again, I used one of the small companion images to make a background for the bow.
I started die cutting the largest bow die from copy paper, and used the negative as a mask. First, sponged a bit of Antique Linen distress ink to help define the bow shape. Next, without removing the mask, I stamped the solid tiny heart circle with assorted pigment ink, and over the background I stamped the dashed bow outline.
Finally, I built a custom sentiment. So much options on this set! The card was finished with a few clear gems. A super simple card to brighten someone's day :)
And now, we need a winner!

You are genius to create a fun background using a grass stamp! I definitely will give it a try. Love the super CAS bow card too! Thanks for the inspiration.
