Waffle Flower Crafts: Elegant Edition

Hola, hola! How is your Summer going? As you read this post I am enjoying a holiday with my family. We are road-tripping the US East coast!  But I wanted to make sure I left some more Waffle Flower Crafts inspiration for you before leaving! So here it is: an elegant take using Loved stamp set.

 

 

This soft grey, white, gold and vellum combination is a little tribute to one of my most admired ever cardmakers, Jess Witty. Sadly, she's not blogging anymore these days, but I hope someday she'll come back to the crafting world :)

 

 

I started by masking a frame on the card front, and stamping the flowers and stems from Loved stamp set using white, gold and clear embossing powder. When the background was done I removed the masking tape,  drew a frame with a Versamark pen and also heat embossed it in gold. The sentiment was placed on a vellum strip and is from Bowtiful (you're) and Bowtiful Adittions (beautiful) stamp sets.

Look at that pretty shine!

 

 

I love so much this color combo that I also made a coordinating tag.

 

 

All the images an the sentiment are from Loved. The tag is from Surface - Tag Starter Kit dies and the scalloped overlay is from Surface - Tag Die - Scallop Add on.

I took a close up shot to show how cool the little dots look heat embossed in clear. Almost looks like water drops :)

Getting More Mileage From Your Waffle Flower Crafts Stamps

Hey there! Wow, I think this post's title is the longer I've ever written. And get ready for a long post too, with LOTS of ideas for stretching your Waffle Flower Crafts stamps. For today's projects, I combined stamps from the April and June release. All the sets work beautifully together!

First, a card using Flower Circles and Bowtiful stamp sets.

 

 

I started stamping the banner strings using the long stem in Flower Circles. I just curved the stamp on the clear block and stamped it a few times in grey. Then I went in with the stars cluster from Bowtiful.

 

 

The banners were created with the semicircle from Flower Circles, stamped in assorted colors. I used pigment ink for this, because it's opaque. If I had used dye ink, the starry background would show "under" the banners. Hope that makes sense :) Once I had my banner bunting, I trimmed it and adhered with foam tape to the card base, where I stamped the sentiment from Bowtiful.

 

 

I also used a Wink of Stella pen (in clear glitter) to add shine to the banners. Here's the shiny stuff in all it's glory.

Next, I made two tags  with the Surface - Tag Starter Kit die and well, I'm specially excited about this first one!

 

 

I turned the bucket from Hey Mr stamp set into a rustic chic planter, ha! The tiny stems that are starting to grow were made heat embossing the small rays stamp from Flower Circles and the sentiment is also from that set.

The second tag would be perfect for attaching to a handmade gift, specially if it is something you sew or knitted,

 

 

I white heat embossed  the beautiful sewing machine from Notions stamp set, combined with the "handmade" sentiment from Surface - Tag stamp set. The stitched lines were stamped using the stitched outline tag shape from the same set. The woodgrain patterned paper is from an Amy Tangerine paper pad.

Thank You Tag Set

Hello friends! I hope you're not already tired of seeing tags around here because today I have a few more to share. Mama Elephant has a new challenge blog and I loved the inspiration image for this round.

 

 

I was inspired by the colors -including the pops of bright pink and gold- and the overall feel of that cool boxes as a set. So a set it was :)

 

 

I die cut the tags from linen cardstock using the Embellished Tag die and used XOXO to stamp and gold heat emboss the coordinating tag images (the top and the stitched stripe at the bottom). The linen cardstock shows on the stamped areas and gives the tags such a cool look!

 

 

The assorted thank you sentiments are from Many Thanks.

A card and a giveaway winner

Hey everyone! I  have a card to share today that uses Loved and Surface - Tag stamp sets. It shows an easy way to add a watercolor or hand drawn look to that pretty flowers.

 

 

I started stamping the flowers and leaves with pigment ink on a piece of watercolor cardstock. Once everything was stamped, I scribbled lightly on the images with Inktense watercolor pencils, and went over them with a water brush. I added a bit more color in the areas where I wanted shadows. I'm terrible at shading and never know what areas should be darker, so here I just played around randomly and added more color to the inner part of the petals. And I happen to like the result :)

 

 

The blue watercolored background was made by scribbling with a blue Distress Marker on my craft sheet and adding water. Then I picked the color with a brush and used it to watercolor around the stamped images.

 

 

The sentiment is from Surface - Tag stamp set. The stamp has some faux stitching that I used as my template to add real stitching. Finally, I just matted the watercolor panel with purple cardstock and adhered it with foam tape.

Ooooh, I love that scallop!! Want! Wonder how it would have looked had you slid each scallop about 1/4" for a tiered effect to see the colors better. Love it though. Thanks for offering up the stamp set. It looks awesome! I'm an avid cardmaker, would love it.

Surface Tag - Waffle Flower Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to Surface Tag - Waffle Flower Blog Hop! Today is the 5th of the month and also the day that the design team girls get together and share some fun craft projects using our newest stamps and dies released in June. If you came from Kim's blog, you are right on track! If you want to start from the beginning, go here.

 

 

I hope you're ready for some inspiration using Surface - Tag stamp set, dies and add on dies because I have lots of ideas to show you! Let's start with a card and a little photo tutorial to make your own polka dot striped background.

Nina made this awesome sketch from my card! Here it is for your very own inspiration :)

 

 

 

See that layered tag? It was die cut twice from Surface - Tag Starter Kit. I'll show you how I made the stripes. The sentiment is from Bowtiful Additions stamp set.

 

 

1. Die cut a white tag and use a ruler to mark slightly with a pencil 3/4 inch increments; 2. Use the pencil marks as a guide to mask the tag with a post it note and stamp the polka dot tag from Surface - Tag stamp set; 3. Repeat step 2 until you're done with the first color; 4. Mask the already stamped areas and stamp the tag on the remaining white areas with a second color.

 

 

You can make a multicolored background too with this same technique! Oh, and here's a closer look at the big star from the same set. I stamped and heat embossed it a few times to get that extra glossy look. Then it was fussy cut and adhered. Just another fun touch :)

Of course, being a blog hop focused on tag stamps and dies, I couldn't leave without sharing some tags too. Here are some other ideas to use the Surface - Tag collection. All of them use the largest tag in Surface - Tag starter kit as the tag base.

 

 

 Top left tag: Stripes were stamped using the frame from Bowtiful Adittions, which lets you stamp two stripes in a single impression. Super fast! The sentiment comes from Surface - Tag set.

Top right tag: I masked the center of the tag and stamped the row of hearts from Bowtiful stamp set in a rainbow of colors. Stamped the sentiment from Bowtiful Adittions set. Die cut the smaller tag from Surface - Tag Die Starter Kit. Die cut the rectangle from Surface - Tag Die - Scallop Add on from the tag and layered it on the stamped area with foam tape.

Bottom tag: Here I started stamping a sentiment from Flower Cirles stamp set (love the boldness of this font!). The scalloped border is just another cool idea for using the Surface - Tag Die - Scallop Add. Just die cut a bunch of scalloped frames in different colors, trim the longer sides and adhere them off-setting the scallops from one row to the other.
