Hello friends! This year I couldn't resist registering for the Holiday Card Shop at Online Card Classes. I've immensely enjoyed all the OCC classes I've taken, but I've missed lots of them because I hadn't time to catch up. I know you have forever access and you can see the lesson videos at your own pace, but for me it's not the same that way. I love to follow along, see the videos the day they're posted and share my homework while the class is still going on. This week I knew I'd be able to do tgat, so here I am :)
Today's class was all about easy to reproduce cards. I loved Kristina's card, so I took it as inspiration and came up with this:
I kept the kraft base but changed the dark blue for red. Instead of a moon, I heat embossed an ornament using Holiday Labels: Give Thanks and Holiday Labels: Merry from Waffle Flower Crafts. Then, I happily discovered that the Noel sentiment from a new Avery Elle set I got recently fit perfectly on the ornament.
Instead of the twine and faux stitching, I kind of merged the two of them and hand stitched a line of both sides of the focal panel using green twine. I also used the same stencil as Kristina. It's fun how the embossing paste picked some of the color of the red distress ink I used on the borders.
Finally, I colored some rhinestones with a green Copic marker and adhered them inside the ornament, to carry the green color inside the focal panel.
That's it for now! But I'll be back later with another card inspired by today's lessons. Thanks for visiting!
This is so gorgeous! The stitching is wonderful!
