CACM: Xiumaiyuki

Good evening everyone! Incredibly, I'm posting my Case a Card Monday on a monday! Yeah, yeah, I know... And today I bring you a CASE from an artist that is not only a clean and simple (and even some fun and cute) master, but also a good friend who offered herself to be my proxy shopper a few months ago and now month after month orders for me and patiently unpacks and repacks my googies to make them shipping friendly and sends them all the way from Hawaii to Spain! So meet Yuki and one of her masterpieces!

And my CASE from her (sorry for the awful pic!)

I accidentally embossed the cardstock vertically, oops! And instead of the lovely frame she used, I stamped one from this Waltinzgmouse set. The sentiment is Hero Arts and the leaves are from this PTI set. Oh, and I have to say that Barn Door Distress Ink is quickly becoming my favorite red ink ever. Bright, and vibrant, and stamps soooo evenly!

CACM: Kelly Marie Alvarez

Hi there! Yes, still alive ;) Just had a crazy, crazy week full of job, and a trip and even a national holiday that kept me away from the computer. Last week I wasn't able to post CACM and aven if today is tuesday I didn't wanted the same to happen this week! So let me introduce another one of my fave designers and one of her fab creations:

Kelly Marie is one of the owners of Lawn Fawn stamps, which are the cutest ever! And this is the card I case'd from hers:

As you can see I changed the papers (mine are October Afternoon) and also the sentiment, which is from this PTI set. Both the birdies and the banner are from this Lawn Fawn set but I'm sure you already know that because I've used it like a zillion times :D

CACM: Nichole Heady

Hi everyone and welcome to my second Case a Card Monday! You can read about this series here. This week my CASE comes from a combo of two cards by one of my most admired designers, Papertrey Ink co-owner Nichole Heady. Look at this beauties!!

 

And here's my card

I used this stamp set by PTI  and October Afternoon paper. As you can see I still have a lot to learn about coloring with Copics ;) The glitter line was used by placing a line of Scor Tape and then pouring Prisma glitter all over it. That's a technique that I learnt from Nichole's blog too.

Introducing Case a Card Monday (CACM)

Hi everyone and happy monday! Today I'm very excited to introduce a new feature/series/weekly post here on my little blog. A bit of history first: one of the first artists that wowed me and hooked me on cardmaking when I discovered the paper crafting world was Kristina Werner. To the day I still follow her work (that awesome videos!) and amaze at her talent and true gift for design. And as you may know, every week she offers us a video under the title "Make a Card Monday". So when lately I've been thinking of creating a couple of fix weekly spots, it came to my mind that I could make a "Case a Card Monday"! It will consist in creating a card inspired or "cased/lifted" (with credits, of course!) in another designer's card each monday. What do you think?

And of course, my first CACM had to be from one of Kristina's fabby creations. Here's her card (from this years Holiday Card Series that I highly recommend you to watch!).

And here's mine:

 

I also used and colored (with Copics) a Hero Arts reindeer, but mine's from this set. Love the one in her card! I used too a music background stamp (mine is from Prima) and heat embossed it with clear powder. The white heat embossed sentiment is from this Hero Arts set, the paper is October Afternoon and the scalloped circle was cut from a PTI die.
