Hello there! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! There are some family issues around here right now so I'm keeping it short and sweet.

Unless you've been hiding under a rock you will probably have noticed that chevron stripes are the trendiest of trends ever. And I happen to love them :)

I made this fun set of tags using two of my fave stamps lately. This chevrons heart and this cool sentiments. Stamp, cut and bling. Easy peasy.

Song inspired

Good evening! Super quick post before heading to bed because I'm exhausted and will be driving to the country tomorrow :)

I love this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge: Name that tune, which means creating a project inspired by a song. I chose one of my all time favies, U2's Angel of Harlem. Did you know it's a tribute to Billie Holiday? And a beautiful one, I must say! So with New York City + music in mind, this is what I created...

I finally got to ink this gorgeous Hero Arts stamp, yay! Sentiment is also Hero Arts, music notes are from this Paper Smooches set. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

Trigger time

Good afternoon! And happy Palm Sunday for those of you who celebrate Easter! In Spain this day is called Domingo de Ramos and little kids are given beautifully shaped palm branches after attending Sunday's church service. It's a dear tradition :)

Ok, let's get to bussiness! I think I may have mentioned before that I love Orla Kiely's designs and patterns. So when I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World I jumped right in!

The image was so inspiring that I made two very different mini cards, but still I think they're perfect for giving away together.

Can you notice I used the kissing technique on the tiny green butterfly? It's a bit hard to see in the pic but very cool in real life :) This card was inspired by the multi-colored stems tin (burlap and colors) and the orange tin inspired the orange card, although I think this is more obvious!

Kraft Love

Good evening! Today I'm sharing a little kraft set I put together last week. It includes a To Do notebook, a bookmark and a card. I kept the same design in the three items, with stamping and die cutting taking center stage. My inspiration came from the lots of color-printed-on-kraft patterns I've seen lately, from My Mind's Eye to American Crafts or Lawn Fawn. Love some color on a kraft base! So here's the set (I tried my best with the picture, but I guess it shows I'm not a pro...).

Let it Snow!

Let it snow, let it snow... ok, are you already humming the tune? ;) Little by little I'm getting into the Christmas spirit. Well, not that I find it hard as it's one of my favorite times of the year! So when I saw the shiny brand new challenge at the Moxie Fab World (details here) I knew it was going to be a Christmas card. First I thought about making hanging ornaments with medallions but that seemed a bit obvious. I kept thinking... hmmm, let's see, what's round and festive?

There you have it! A snowman! Very round, very festive. I dressed him up with a Hero Arts hat, a felt carrot nose, two die cut buttons and googly eyes. The paper is Echo Park and sentiment is from PTI. At first I forgot to add his scarf, so I made him one out of felt because baby, it's cold outside... I'm showing you two versions. Which one do you prefer?

Texture?...

... "That means layers, and vintage,  and everyone knows I'm unable to do that, so this challenge is not for me", I thought when I saw the Textured to Perfection challenge at the Moxie Fab World. But then I remembered that one of the things I've always loved from the MFB is actually the way Cath encourages us to stretch our style. So I sat at my desk with a bunch of textured stuff and my two go-to supplies (stamps and patterned paper) and set to work. And I came up with this:

I started with a corrugated cardboard pannel, where I spread lots of Antique Linen distress stickles with my fingers. Then I die cut a double ended banner from fun foam and a kraft tiny heart, and stamped my sentiment (from this Hero Arts set) on sticky back canvas. And the turkey... it was so fun to make this little guy!! Here's how: For the feathers, I cut a bunch of string pieces, folded in two to get a petal shape and secured the tips with scor-tape. Then I adhered each of the feathers to a piece of patterned paper (the green cap Tombo glue works great for this) and trimmed around. Next I adhered the to the card.

And now the body: I used Paper Smooches stamps for this. For the body I used the circle in Sunny Side Up and the beak and feet are from the fun little turkey in My Peeps (some basic masking involved here).

And that's it! If I could do texture, so can you!!

No orange

Good afternoon! Quickly popping by with a little card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge: Halloween with no orange.

I started with the idea of a black cat and a stamped stripe of geometrical pattern in purple. Ended up with this. You never know where you will end up when you start stamping, lol! Stamps are Hero Arts, they make the cutest Halloween stuff!!! I used this and this set.

Good morning! So I made this card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge but it looks like I didn't make it on time! Which doesn't mean I can't share it anyway :)

A bit of heat embossing and die cutting took place here, as you can see. I'm loving aqua+blue+any bright color lately.

An Autumn card

Good morning! Autumn officially started yesterday but at least in Madrid we still have summery weather, which I love! However, I had to jump straight into fall mood for this card.

I stamped a masked background with this cute Hero Arts flower and then restamped the flower on patterned paper, fussy cut the smaller layer and adhered it loosely. The bigger layer underneath was colored with white ink. And the sentiment (it's a masked one from this set)...  I gave it a thousand thoughts until I realized that it needed a bold one to stand out in that busy background. I first stamped it and heat embossed in brown, but it looked horrible! So I carefully restamped with Versamark over the embossing and used white instead. This time worked, phewww!I also added some white Enamel Accents for good measure ;)

The jute center was made by covering a circle with scor-tape and rolling the jute on it. This is my entry for this month's HA challenge, details here.

A mini card

Well, hello there! With the last stretch of the holidays, a submissions call and all this back to school madness It's been a little while since I last played at the lovely CAS-ual Fridays. Which I'm about to fix right now. The deet for this week was making a mini card. And... tada!

It's a 3 1/2 by 3 3/4 card. Stamp, stamp and then stamp some more and you're good to go.  The polka dot lines are from a veeeeery old Hero Arts set and the rest of the card is Papertrey Ink. I'm loving that kind of sentiments lately, the fonts are fantastic and so bold! I think the saying is fantastic too, something different to the classic hello, hi or thinking of you :)
