Hello and happy, happy Friday! Welcome to a new CAS-ual Fridays Challenge. As you probably know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the United States, so this week we're creating cards For the Girls. I hope you can join us.

My card for this week is a one layer with stamping as the star of the show. I stamped the beautiful Hero Arts roses and accented them with a Copic marker and colored pencils. The sentiment is from Joy's Life Stamps, and the whole front pannel was debossed with PTI's Canvas impression plate.

Joy's Life DT Thursday: That tiny companion images

Hello friends and welcome to my last Joy's Life Design Team Thursday! Today I finish my designing term and I would like to thank Joy for giving me this fantastic chance of being part of a DT, something which was new to me and I enjoyed a lot. Definitely a Pawsitively Cool experience ;)

This time I want to show you a little something you can do with that tiny companion images that come in some of the sets. In this case I picked the cute paw image in Lots of Pun stamp set, which you can find here. I used the little paw to make a fun frame for my focal image. You can also use this smaller images to make custom backgrounds or as a focal points in inchies. So much possibilities! Oh, and this card uses a custom sentiment too, made by selectively inking the sentiments "pawsitively purrfect" and "that's cool!!".

Joy's Life DT Thursday

Hi and welcome to a new edition of Joy's Life Design Team Thursday! Or maybe I should say ahoy matey! ;) My card for today uses You're so Punny stamp set. Check it here, so much possibilities! This card would be perfect for a pirate themed birthday, don't you think?

I started with a rectangular card base which I covered with patterned paper. For the pirate flag I stamped the skull and bones image on patterned paper, fussy cut and accented it with markers. A googly eye and a party hat dress her up ;) The flag shape was drawn by hand, cut, embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and sponged with white ink. Then I adhered the skull and glued a toothpick to the back.

Good morning! Before heading to work I wanted to post a little something I made for the Embellish Challenge. Before getting to the cart I also want to say that working in summer should be prohibited by the Human Rights Chart! Ah, well...

The challege is focused in Nautical Color Trends. Did I have any nautical stamp set or patterned papers? Nope (except this sentiment from Joy's Life). Could I get creative and create my own nautical elements? Sure! So I took this Hero Arts set. I stamped the t-shirt and went over it with a PTI distressed stripe stamp and a Copic marker to make a nautical shirt. Then I drew the anchor by hand. The trousers were stamped and paper pieced. And finally, my clothesline was made from jute twine to resemble rope, because a boat is not a boat if it hasn't some rope on board ;)

Joy's Life DT Thursday: A masculine card

Hi everyone and welcome to Joy's Life Design Team Thursday! Today I have a masculine card to share. I used Wild Life Puns, you can find the whole set here. It's full of perfect sentiments for guys!

I started with a kraft base and draw the square with a red pen. Next, I cut the grass from Basic Grey paper with a My Favorite Things border die. An absolute basic in my stash! The fungis are actually an ice cream from a Paper Smooches set. I stamped and pieced them (paper is from Jillybean Soup). And that perfect sentiment tops the cake :)

Joy's Life DT Thursday: 4th of July

Good morning! Welcome to Joy's Life Design Team Thursday! Today the team is celebrating the 4th of July. The internationals, though, were given a bit more freedom: we could create a non 4th card, but taking inspiration from the Americana colors, red, white and blue. So I scanned my stamps and found that Wild Life Puns (find it here) had a fantastic sentiment for the ocassion.

I played with the concept of America as your "Home"... or gnome, in this case ;) The first thing I did was heat embossing the sentiment with blue Zing embossing powder. Then I cut the gnome cap from red cardstock and heat embossed some white stars on it. After that, I placed in where I wanted it on the card and traced the frame with a pencil. This is important, pencil first!! And finally, once I was happy with the frame, I traced over the pencil lines with a fine point red marker.

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday with some stamp surgery

Hi there! Isn't my post title a bit weird? lol, I'll soon explain you why :) It will soon be Father's Day in the USA so this week we are focusing in dads. But as I didn't have any father's related stamps in my Joy's Life stash, some serious measures had to be taken...

See my sentiment? It originally said "Happy Cake Day" and belongs to Joy's Yummy Puns stamp set, which you can find here. Love this set! But that didn't stop me from doing a bit of stamping surgery to get the sentiment I needed. I simply cut the stamp (carefully, no one got harmed!), separated the 3 words and  mounted "happy" and "day" on an acrylic block. A new sentiment! And the best part is that I can mount the original saying back too. Joy's Life stamps are made of high quality photopolymer, so they will keep their shape and fit back perfectly. I'm thinking about making a tutorial for stamp surgery, what do you think?

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday

Good morning and welcome to Joy's Life DT Thursday! Let's celebrate summer, shall we? It's my favorite time of the year closely followed by Christmas. I love sun, not for the terrible heat or for burning my skin like a crab, but for the amazing energy it brings to me (along with a few more freckles on my nose!). This card celebrates the great feeling of a Summer Sunday, and the sentiment I used from Joy's Life Yummy Puns stamp set was simply perfect for what I had in mind. You can get it here, lots of fun possibilities there!

 

I covered part of the front with a summery Echo Park patterned paper. Love that bright and cheery banners! Then, I made my own sundae by stamping and paper piecing partially this Hero Arts cup of coffee. For the ice cream I used a PTI cupcake die and it's coordinating stamp. Some May Arts ribbon and baker's twine from The Twinery finish off the card. And the sundae topping? It was made with Enamel Accents. I discovered that stuff thanks to Jennifer McGuire's blog and it's very, very cool to add a pop of white or black to your creations.

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday

Hi there! It's thursday, which means that Joy's Life Design Team gets to share beautiful creations with the rest of the world :) Today we're introducing a lovely set called Barnyard Puns.  As every Joy's set, it's choking full of cute punny sentiments for lots of occasions. This set holds a special place in my heart because one of the sentiments is a pun in my native languaje, Spanish: "mooochas gracias". Lol! However, I didn't use that one. Today we were asked to think out of the box and make non farm related projects with this set.

And here's my card! I thought that "to pickup your spirits" went perfectly with a basket full of freshly picked flowers. Not peas or carrots or aubergines, but flowers. See? Non farm related at all ;) The ric rac was die cut from felt. I also sponged blue distress ink in the top area of the card, but the image doesn't seem to show it. It's prettier in real like, I promise! The basket and flowers were stamped and pieced from patterned paper.

Joy's Life Design Team Thursday (in Chevron Chic!)

HI there! Welcome to Joy's Life Design Team Thursday. My card for today showcases the Wild Life Puns stamp set, which you can find here. Isn't it perfect for little guys and summer?

I paired it with the latest release from Maile Belles at PTI: Background Basics Chevron Stripes and a Hero Arts fishie. For the card, I stamped different chevron stripes in a gradient blue scheme, trimmed them out and overlapped on the front of the card. The fishie was paper pieced from Cosmo Cricket and Echo Park papers. I love how the sentiment from Wild Life Puns stamps ties everything because that little fish looks so lonely in the big blue sea! ;)
