Blue and yellow

Morning friends! Hope your weekend is being awesome. Today I'm popping by with a card for the current Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge. This is the inspiration photo, a gorgeous blue, white and yellow combo. I wouldn't mind having a wall like that in my house!

You know how much I love square cards. My focal point is that cute "hello" from Word Up. It was stamped and paper pieced from My Mind's Eye papers. For the frame I stamped repeatedly a flower from Hang Ups, the cross stitch from Folkal Points (still my fave PS set to the date!), colored and embellished with blue Liquid Pearls.

Texture?...

... "That means layers, and vintage,  and everyone knows I'm unable to do that, so this challenge is not for me", I thought when I saw the Textured to Perfection challenge at the Moxie Fab World. But then I remembered that one of the things I've always loved from the MFB is actually the way Cath encourages us to stretch our style. So I sat at my desk with a bunch of textured stuff and my two go-to supplies (stamps and patterned paper) and set to work. And I came up with this:

I started with a corrugated cardboard pannel, where I spread lots of Antique Linen distress stickles with my fingers. Then I die cut a double ended banner from fun foam and a kraft tiny heart, and stamped my sentiment (from this Hero Arts set) on sticky back canvas. And the turkey... it was so fun to make this little guy!! Here's how: For the feathers, I cut a bunch of string pieces, folded in two to get a petal shape and secured the tips with scor-tape. Then I adhered each of the feathers to a piece of patterned paper (the green cap Tombo glue works great for this) and trimmed around. Next I adhered the to the card.

And now the body: I used Paper Smooches stamps for this. For the body I used the circle in Sunny Side Up and the beak and feet are from the fun little turkey in My Peeps (some basic masking involved here).

And that's it! If I could do texture, so can you!!

I love teal

Hi there! Don't you love teal too? It's such a beautiful color! And here's a fun fact: in Spanish we don't have a specifical name for that particular shade, there's no translation for teal! Weird, huh? Anyway, that's not a problem for playing along with this week's Tuesday Trigger at the Moxie Fab World. Look at this beauty in teal and grey!

That cute Paper Smooches turkey was heat embossed in silver. The little black dots on his feathers were made with Ranger Enamel Accents and the sentiment is from an older Kim Hugues for Cornish Heritage Farms set. I'm so happy I could find a few of those lovely sets through a stamping forum some months ago! They're hard to find :)

Geometrical

Hey there! *cough, cough* Yeah, today I'm homebound with a nasty viral cold plus the most awful pain in my lower back area. Not nice... But since I'm home, I get to blog at unusual times ;)

For this card I used the color scheme from the latest Paper Crafts Magazine Color Inspiration challenge. And since my gifts are geometrical shapes and are created with PTI stamps, they fit perfectly for the current A Passion for Papertrey challenge.

For this card I stamped the background basics images on scrap cardstock and then I added the dotted squares over them, cut and adhered to the card base. Then I stamped the bow twice: the orange one straight on the card and the burgundy, on a piece of cardstock that then I cut and adhered with foam tape. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and I thought it was perfect for this card because it kind of mimics the loopy bows :)

Friend

Hello crafty friends! I have another CAS for today. And a bit of doodling. I've seen a few ladies using this "dots & lines" frames and I loved the look of it, so I thought I could give it a try. With the help of my trusty ruler of course ;)

To create this scene I used this Hero Arts set (super versatile!!!), this sentiments one from Paper Smooches and some die cutting. For the doodled frame I used one of my trusty Stabilo point 88 markers. They are inexpensive and come in lots of pretty colors. Perfect for drawing frames and little accents! I'm entering it in the Paper Crafts Magazine August Challenge. All the deets here.

Crayola time

Hello from the beach! Does my son get access to mom's crafting supplies? Nooo way. Does mom get access to her son's crafting supplies? Yes siree ;) Mean me! Crayolas!!!!

This is the first time I use crayons on a card and I really love the look on kraft! Stamps are PTI and Paper Smooches. I'm entering this baby in the current Embellish Challenge. Sorry for the short post but the Mediterranean Sea is out there waiting for us! Thanks for visiting :)

You're cute

Good morning! How was your weekend? Mine was fantastic and relaxed :) I'm thinking about starting again with my Case a Card Mondays now that I have a bit more time, but for today a not case'd card will do.

This one is for Embellish Magazine patterned paper color trends challenge. Details here. If you're wondering where the patterned paper is, look at the picket fence ;) It is also for A Passion for Papertrey "Sky's the limit" challenge (I used clouds and birdies). I kept this simple: a bit of stamping and a bit of die cutting. Stamps are Papertrey Ink (clouds) and Paper Smooches (sentiment). Paper is from an old Pink Paislee pad.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge

Hi everyone! My summer holidays started yesterday, woohooo!!! A whole month of family, relax, beach, some traveling... pure happiness :) And a good way to celebrate is jumping into a new challenge:

So this is another Christmas in July card. I used one of the color combos (red, black, fawn, kiwi) and combined two PS sets: Folkal points (stitches, sentiment) and Hang Ups (green sprig, Christmas lights, rectangle). The tree was drawn by hand and completely covered in sprigs. I then traced the garland, stamped the lights,  colored them with a Copic marker and a copper gel pen, and I finished them with Glossy Accents. I absolutely adore that little stitches image, it's super versatile!

Hi, sweetness

Hello there! Thanks so much for the sweet comments about the strawberry basket and the puppies. I have a sad update though. From the 5 that were born, only two survived. The rest were too weak and although we tried, we could do nothing for them. The poor things were unable to eat no matter how we tried. Oh, well, I guess nature rules here :( Ok, so after this sad news, let's focus on something brighter:

I made this card for the CASual Fridays challenge Sweets & Treats. I used this cutie Paper Smooches set and a sentiment from My favorite Things. Lots of paper piecing, as you can see, and some green baker's twine too.
