Good morning! Our sunday is just beginning and today we plan a visit to the enormous Tristan Narvaja flea market, which is one of the most amazing places for thrifts hunting I've ever seen. And then we'll have lunch in a small arab restaurant where you can find real cous-cous, hummus, tabuleh and falafel. And when I say real, I really mean it! We often get food delivered from there but actually we've never been to the place, so today will be the day.
But before leaving I wanted to share what I created for Tina's Traveling Inspiration Challenge #1 at Travelingmama. The inspiration photo shows some lovely moroccan slippers...
Aren't they beautiful?
So I wanted to created something that resembled them, and what it popped to my mind was to craft my very own mini-slippers in the form of gift tags.
I used a very textured cardstock to evocate the leather, and then stamps and bling for the ornate pattern.
A sentiment in the middle of the slippers finishes the little tags.
As you can see I keep messing around with the way I use the photos in my posts, but I'm still struggling to improve my use of the Typepad options, so sorry for any optical inconvenience while you're visiting here! ;)
For the picture I used the base of my small
cous cous pot that I bought when I lived in Melilla years ago. And that I've never used for it's main purpose because I have no idea of how to cook a decent cous-cous.
Supplies: Textured cardstock: Ursus; Stamps: Hero Arts (all sentiments, yellow flower), Crate Paper (long flower stamp used as slipper stitching and green flower), Sassafrass Lass (pink flower). Ink: Colorbox Silks'n Satins pigment queue; Others: Bling, twill.
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely sunday!
